Dancers

I was trying to explain to Liam and Luke how Michael Jackson was one of a handful of amazing male dancers of our time. This is when YouTube comes in handy...They were very keen on the Singing in the Rain clip since they've heard the song many times thanks to Luke's dancing bear. Did I miss anyone?

School is out for summer!

Another school year gone by! I can't believe Luke will go into Grade 1 and Liam into Grade 3 in September. The boys got excellent report cards and while Liam is sad school is over, he is thrilled to have Ms. Aikman again next year.

We are packing up and doing laundry so we can head to the cottage this weekend. I am having a sudden reminder of all the gear that we need when travelling with a baby....

There is a lot of rain in the forecast for next week but who wants to stay in Toronto with a smelly garbage strike...?

It is dial-up for the internet while we are up north but I will try to post pictures when I can. Here are a few from the last week.

A new cousin!

Tim and Anna welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world on Father's Day - Sunday, June 21st, 2009. Peter now has a little sister named Emma Josephine Laura. Congratulations!

I snapped a few shots of Emma and Grace yesterday. Wow, look how fast they grow! Grace was that small just a few months ago. Her head looks so big as she points at her new cousin...

Friday Laugh

Okay, I really needed this today. I laughed really hard. Reminiscent of David Letterman going through the Drive-Thru.

Science and Lego

When Luke is home with me in the mornings he is not allowed to play his DS so he has been looking for things to do. He loves playing cards, drawing, writing on the whiteboard and playing Webkinz. Lately he has been working on his lego castle and wanting to do science experiments. We started a little science book for Luke to write down all of his experiments. Last night, Liam and Luke were doing their own experiments...

Scrapbooking

I finished 8 scrapbook pages this week while Luke worked on his own scrapbook to give Dan for Father's Day and Grace sat in her blue chair. This is one thing I can't do with her in the front carrier! I did last year's Edmonton Indy and Liam and Luke's December Field Trip with Grandma and Grandpa. I think I am going to start Grace's scrapbook even though I haven't even come close to finishing Liam and Luke's...I got a lot of adorable baby girl supplies at Sandylion last month (great deals!)

I started scrapbooking after our trip out west in 2006 and find it very relaxing. I am surprised at how often the boys pull out the books and look at them (especially our trip to Disney World). The other day Luke asked me where Daddy's baby scrapbook is because he wants to see pictures of Dan as a baby (he didn't ask about mine). I used to keep photo album scrapbooks of all my class photos, music and dance recital programs, badges and awards when I was a kid. I guess I should have taken up this hobby years ago.

Cute Hats and Dresses

Grace got this dress from a lovely family whose son was in my Grade 2 class this year. The family has 2 older boys and a sweet girl in JK. Their mom had saved this Ralph Lauren dress (complete with a ruffled diaper cover) from when her daughter was a baby and decided that was Grace was cute enough to inherit it! Grace, you are even adorable in blue! Thank you Sheryl and family!

They also gave Grace this adorable hat for the fall. There is a picture of Grace wearing the pink version in an earlier post. The lady who knits these lives in our area so you see lots of Earl Beatty girls sporting these flowered hats and hairclips. Her website is www.auntiegin.com. The hats are so beautiful - I think I may put one on my Christmas list.

Playdates!

Today we are having a double play date after school. Liam and George plus Luke and Sebastian. Liam has had many play dates lately while Luke tags along. Luke was super excited to invite his own friend over today and even posted this note on the front door this morning. I told him to sound out the words because in Grade 1 that's what the teacher will make him do. The only tip I gave him was that FUN rhymes with SUN.

Three Smiles!

Luke and Grace were up at 6:30 this morning. Grace slept from 9pm so I can't complain about that. However, I find the later the boys go to bed the earlier they wake up! They've both been going to bed too late the last couple of weeks and then waking up too early. Luke says he can't go back to sleep if the sun is up. Here are a couple of photos from early this morning. Too much sun in the background...

4 Months!

Grace had her four month appointment and shots yesterday. Luke had some tears after school when he saw the band-aids on both of Grace's legs. He said it was because he was sad about Grace being hurt with the needles. He seemed genuinely upset about it...

Her stats:
Weight - 14.2 lbs
Height - 24.5 inches

Grace is laughing and talking a lot and sleeping really well - 6 to 10 hours at night.
