New Sweater!

I just finished knitting Grace her first sweater. Phew! The seams and hood were the hardest parts and you can definitely tell I was learning the different techniques as I went along. I was surprised when I put it on Grace as it looks much better on her compared to when when I hold it up (maybe it's her cute face?). I thought it may not even be wearable with all the bumps and lumps...I now really appreciate all those sweaters and mittens my Grandmothers made me when I was a child.

Local Strawberries!

My mom brought these over this evening. She found them at the market down the street. It seems early for Ontario berries, but they taste like the real thing. Jam making time is just around the corner...

Dear Dan,

This can't wait until Father's Day.
Do you know what you did yesterday?
Well, what I saw was: you woke up at 5am, did a one hour walk, made yours and Liam's lunches, showered and ate your breakfast, biked to school, worked all day, biked home, made me a latte, did some dishes, mowed the lawn, wiped some bums, emptied the garbages, took Liam to swimming, picked up groceries, made dinner, did more dishes, got my coffee ready for this morning, responded to your course video, put Luke to bed and at 10:30pm started your course readings for today. I guess you went to bed at some point even though you were already up at 5:45 this morning when I went to get Grace...
I don't know how you do this day after day but THANK YOU because I couldn't raise these 3 beautiful children without you. xoxBeth

Liam's Relay Race

Liam had his first ever Track & Field meet today. It was a beautiful sunny 17 degrees outside. He ran the 100m x 4 relay. I was always a sprinter for Track & Field - I guess Liam got my power thighs! Yup, that's what I call them : ) Very good for playing hockey too...

15 Weeks

Grace is 15 weeks old (or should we say "young") today. Where does time go? She is starting to settle down and has more patience for sitting in her various chairs so I can take a shower and get things done around the house. Grace loves sucking on her fingers and sometimes gets her whole fist in her mouth! She doesn't usually wake up crying anymore but coos and calls until I come to get her. Her sleep is still inconsistent but she has been doing at least one 5-6 hour (and once 8 hours!) stretch at night for a week now so hopefully she will keep that up. Liam and Luke love reading to Grace. I will try to upload a video of last night's story session and one of her chatting with me.

Grace's First TILLEY Hat

With the sun getting stronger and sunscreen not recommended for babies under 6 months, a good hat is a necessity. This hat has a nice wide brim, the size is adjustable with a toggle around the head circumference, it is reversible, has a velcro chin strap for windy days and boat rides, has 50+ UV protection and...I see some pink! Grace seems okay with it...we will try it out on our walk to pick up Liam and Luke from school.

Happy Birthday Luke!

Luke turned 6 yesterday! Where does time go? He had a make-your-own pizza party filled with hyper boys, games and a pinata.
