I found my feet!
New sweater
I just finished knitting Grace another sweater. However, I should have made it in the next size up as it barely fits...I got some felt flowers from the craft store so the sweater can match what she is wearing.
Picking up stitches around the neckline was a challenging new technique and finishing the seams was just as frustrating as last time. I am now taking a break from all items with seams! I am making an afghan based on the book "The Friday Night Knitting Club" that I recently read. Then I am planning to make Grace an indigo blue ribboned dress for the fall.
Chilly Reunion
We had a great time at the cottage with the ever growing families of Dan's childhood friends. We had our family plus Malcolm and Lucy with Colin (2.5 yrs) and Jack (9 mths); Phil and Cynamin with Maxwell (2 yrs) and Emerson (4.5 mths) and Eamonn (unfortunately, Eamonn's wife Ulrike is in Germany until August).
The weather didn't cooperate (rainy, windy, cool and buggy), but the guys got caught up on life while the moms talked about all things babies. The bigger kids had fun meeting and playing with each other. We ate (and drank) well and enjoyed some delicious Southern and Italian fare. We also managed to squeeze in some boat rides and a couple of campfires.
The first photo is of me with the two February girls and the group photo is missing Liam (the photographer), baby Grace, baby Jack and Maxwell. The third photo is Grace checking out Jack and the bottom one is of the "big" kids enjoying their ice cream.

Meeting some new relatives
Grace finally got to meet her Uncle Matt, Aunt Hallie and cousin Eames as they are visiting from Switzerland. The boys had a great time catching up and playing with Eames. There was no shyness - they picked up right where they left off a year ago!
Grace was looking up at Matt for quite a while with this inquisitive look on her face...maybe he sounds a bit like Daddy or maybe she likes the beard?

Baby Laughter!
If we could bottle the sound of a baby laughing we would never be in a grumpy mood again...
Liam has a special knack for getting Grace to laugh.
